Learning Enrichment Teacher

Position Overview:
The Learning Enrichment Teacher will work closely with children who have additional needs, including attention, comprehension, and academic concerns. This role focuses on providing targeted support through individual and small group sessions, ensuring students receive the necessary guidance to meet their learning targets. The Learning Enrichment Teacher will collaborate with classroom teachers, the Head of Learning Support, and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with additional needs.
  • Plan and deliver short, differentiated lessons tailored to individual student targets.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues in shared workspaces and team settings.
  • Supervise students during playtime and actively participate in extra-curricular activities.
  • Support and manage students with low self-esteem using positive reinforcement and encouragement.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of special educational needs (SEN) or show a willingness to develop this knowledge through training.
  • Conduct peer observations and engage in continuous professional development (CPD) once each term.
  • Attend internal and school-wide training sessions to stay informed about best practices.
  • Liaise regularly with teachers of the students under your care to monitor progress and share strategies.
  • Provide in-class support to assist children with their learning needs.
  • Implement strategies provided by the Head of Learning Support to enhance student development.
  • Report student progress, challenges, and updates directly to the Head of Learning Support.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with children, especially those with additional needs, is preferred.
  • Awareness of SEN or willingness to undergo relevant training.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour with patience and positivity.
  • Organisational skills to plan and implement targeted learning interventions.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the varying needs of students and school requirements.
  • Commitment to personal growth and continuous professional development.

Working Conditions:

  • The role involves working in classrooms, dedicated support spaces, and outdoor areas during playtime and extra-curricular activities.
  • Physical activity may be required while engaging with students during movement-based sessions.
  • Regular participation in staff meetings, training, and collaborative planning sessions is expected.
